Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb Problems, No Jet adjusters????, briggs and stratton, hp briggs

Question
I have a Sears and sendback power washer (model # 580.768330with a 6 hp Briggs and Stratton  Intek OHV engine. It ran great for the first year, then ran only on full choke (I read your Q&A on cleaning the carb), and has quit altogether. I took the carb off, disassembled, soaked in cleaner, blew out with compressed air and reassembled.  No luck.  I can't find any adjustable jets…are they fixed these days?  Can you tell me what to do next? By the way, the original tank cracked (wow, sounds familiar) and I replaced it with a gravity feed tank. Gas is getting to the carburetor, but no further…. It will start with a little gas on the air cleaner or in the cylinder but dies as soon as this is gone...

PS Post Question on message board is "NO"..How do you change this to "YES"?

Answer
No adjustable jets.

If it starts and runs by priming with fuel then ignition, compression and timing are fine.

This leaves only the fuel system.  You can check the intake tube and gaskets but most likely the problem is in the carb.

Can you continue to keep the engine running by priming through the carb throat?
Let me know.
