Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): governor gear removal, missing teeth, tecumseh hssk50

hello have a tecumseh hssk50 5hp governor gear is missing teeth trying to get it out and the spool off the pin but it looks like the pin needs to be removed off side case. is it screwed in or pressed in to the side case or am i missing someting thanks duke16@direcway.com

Those shafts are pressed in and very difficult to remove.

DO NOT rotate the governor shaft while trying to remove it...there are splines cut on the shaft to hold it in place.

A large vice will aid removal.  How old is this engine?
