Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): murray riding mower losing power, murrays, straton

Question
I have a murray widebody lt riding mower with the hydro auto trans 14.5 b&straton 42" cut. It has a very minor leak from what i believe is the trans. It moves fine for about 5 min then just gets to a point where i have to let it cool till it moves again. if the fluid is low will the trans slow or completely stop till it cools? Drive belt is fine and linkage is good. How do i check the fluid that i know is low and how do i add to it. I dont see a stick or petcock.
Thank you very much. Larry

Answer
Many of the Murrays are sealed transaxles and do not have a plug to check the fluid level.  I would clean the tranmission area really good and then use a flaslight and look on the top and around the upper sides of the transaxle casing for a plug.

Do you have the mower model number?
Let me know.
