Does your unit use a one piece ignition module/coil or a two piece system with a coil and a seperat ignition module?

Let me know.

Answer
Dis-connect all the wires connected to the coil and also make sure the coil mounting points are clean.  The mounting points provide the ground for the coil; you may not see the corrosion but I would still take some sandpaper and clean the mounting points.

With the engine cut-off switch wire(s) dis-connected, assemble the saw with enough parts so you can pull the string to check for spark.

Also make sure the coil is not installed upside down.
Let me know if you have spark.
