Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Pro 4.2 chainsaw, check the flow, flow problem

Question
This solidstate ignition chainsaw will not start. It has spark and seems to have fuel although there is a bubble in the fuel line that does not seem to go away. I suspected the on/off switch however when unplugged at the switch it acted a little like it wanted to start. Could fuel line be a problem?  Is there a way to bypass the on/off switch to make sure it is not making it not start?  Could carb be blocked keeping the air bubble in the line?  Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Bart

Answer
Hi Bart,

If you have good, hot, consistant spark, then the on/off switch  should be fine.  I suspect a fuel flow problem.  Check the flow from the tank and finally disassemble and clean the carb.  You might need to install a carb repair kit which would include a new diaphram.

Let me know how you make out.
