QuestionEric. did not know how to contact you on the answer but,I'm the guy with the Kohler engine running to fast. 16 hp model K3417 serial #K7122 12 to 15 year old hydro. Anyhow I got it fixed by reading through your various answers to others. Here's what worked for me:put on new governor spring(make sure it is the exact one!) pulled the carb all apart, soaked it in engine cleaner (Gunk) for an hour, blew it out and reinstalled, moved the governor all the way clockwise and put the arm all the way back counter-clockwise. It fired up in a second and worked perfect,so far!

AnswerThe All Expert site it the best way for me to answer questions becasue I can access the site from any computer with a sense of security. I do have an email address that I send out to personal accounts for pictures and stuff but it's difficult to check when I'm on the road.
I'm not sure why you had to adjust the governor but that's exactly what you did to fix the problem...interesting...I'll ask some other folks if they have had this problem.
