Hi Gordon,

Does it stall when the clutch is engaged for the tractor drive or the deck drive?  Check for freewheeling of the tractor or the deck blade spindles.

Let me know what you find.

Hello again: Michael
It stalls when the clutch is engaged for the deck drive.

Answer
Hi Gordon,

Okay, first you need to eliminate the possibility of mechanical binding in the deck.  Remove the belt and check each spindle and blade for free spinning.  Also check the idler pulley.  If the deck is okay, then there may be a problem with the safety switch.  It may be located under the seat or in conjunction with the deck engagement clutch.  If the clutch is electric, that may be defective.

Let me know how you make out.
Michael
