Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B & S 6.0 HP wont start, briggs and stratton, old briggs

Question
Eric,  I have a two year old Briggs and Stratton engine  Murray 6.0hp Quantum.  It will not start.  I took off the carb and blew air thru it and it moved the white float.  So that works.  Then I blew more air thru but it doesn't seem like it is completely freed up.  I ran a wire thru but the hole that the rubber gas line fits in the wire did not come out anywhere.  I installed the carb again and it sputtered and then gave up.  I poured a little gas in it sputtered again then gave up.  I still don't think I cleaned it out, what can I do.  Also are there any adjustments I need to make.  I do not see any screws.

Answer
There are no adjustments on the carb. Did you try replacing the spark plug.

I believe the problem is in the carb but I would still replace the plug.  Do you have a little squirt bottle you can put some gas in and see if you can get the mower to run by squirting gas in the carb.
