Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Runs on Choke only, craftsman, 10 years

A craftsman 10 hp 4 cycle lawnmower. I have to use carb cleaner to help start it and when it does run it only runs on full choke. The flow from the tank into the carb seems good. I took apart the carb and cleaned it, I didnt get into it (removed only the bolted areas). Its about 10 years old, found it in my garage . Any Idea?

Since it starts, you know the ignition, compression and timing are fine...the only missing is fuel.

You will have to remove, disassemble and clean the carb.  If you're not experienced with carb rebuilding you could remove the carb and take it to a repair shop.  This will help keep the labor cost down.
