This machine is about 15 years old. I have never before had a problem. It does not burn oil, but suddenly it started running poorly--running very rich. I cleaned the fuel filter-no effect. I cleaned the air filter-no effect. I replaced the plug but it continues to foul quickly. I have not been able to adjust the carburetor. HELP- Suggestions Please.

Hi Pete,

Does it smoke? If so, what color is the smoke?  The engine may have started to wear at the piston rings.  Do a compression test to check that.  Does the carb have adjustments?  Could there be water in the fuel?  Drain and refill with another fuel source.
