Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Re- addressal of question, maxxed out, techumseh

Question
Mike. I had asked a question to Eric Jones about a Techumseh with no spark and he told me to remove the negative wire on the coil, clean the coil and/or replace. I did all of these and tried to respond back to him, but he was on vacation or maxxed out. I am trying to see if there is anything that I am missing, any help would be appreciated. I received four emails today saying that you had already answered my question, but I was never notified by email and can not find it on all experts. My main question is, do I need bare metal between the block and the go kart engine plate to make a good ground, or am I losing a ground somewhere else? Thanks for your time.

Dave

Answer
Hi Dave,

The engine only needs to be grounded to the frame if there are other things that are mounted to the frame that are wired to the engine.  Examples are:  A steering wheel support mounted kill switch.

You replaced the coil but still no spark?
