Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnmower troubles, several times, debris

Question
I have a Murray 22'' 3.8hp centura throttle free design pushing lawnmower. The trouble iam having with this lawnmower is keeping the engine running.I prime the carburator several times and the engine will start but will die shortly afterwards unless i keep priming the carb. Will you please take my problem under consideration and help me through this so i can mow my lawn .                              thanks                                              Michael Young

Answer
Hi Michael,

The carb most likely has dirt, debris or gummed fuel inside.
You will need to remove the carb, disassemble it, clean all the small internal openings and blow it out with compressed air.   Probe each and every hole with a small wire.  Adding a carb rebuild kit wouldn't hurt either.

Let me know how you make out.
