Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs & stratton, briggs stratton, vertical model

recently got a new motor for the lawn mower and cant get it to fire, dont have the electrical diagram to see if it is hooked up correct, its a vanguard 15.5hp vertical model 28077 type 0691E1 code 0208012D. there is no spark from the plug so i can only assume something is not hooked up properly any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Rich,

Check for any safety switche problems.  Under the seat or the switch which would prevent spark if the blade engagement lever is on.  Also check the coil for proper connections.  The coil may be defective.  Sorry, I can't be of more help.
