Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): carb. leak, hp engine, engine model

Question
I am trying to get my neighbors mower running, I put gas in it and gas flowed out of the bowl, I replaced the bolt on the bowl and still gas flows out and also floods the cylinder to the point that the engine will not turn over. it is a tecumseh 3.8 hp engine model lev100  335026c is the float messed up?

Answer
Hi Steve,

Look to see exactly where the fuel is coming from.  Either the bowl seal, the needle bolt seal or an overflow from a vent.  If the float is leaking, fuel will rise too high and overflow from a vent or the carb's intake.

Let me know how you make out.
