Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Blades not cutting right, murray riding mower, rear discharge

Question
I have a murray riding mower with a 42" deck two blades with mulching capabilties. The blades do not seem to cut all the way. I get a swath of uncut grass down the middle. The funny thing is, if I go backwards and cut it seems to cut a complete path. I have tried reversing the blades every which way I can but nothing seems to help. New blades do the same thing,so they are not dull. I can't cut my yard backwards, takes too long.

Answer
Hi Mark,

Inspect the blades to see how they are rotating and with the cutting edge at the front, contacting the grass.  If it is a right side discharge they should rotate clockwise from the top view.  If rear discharge, they should rotate towards the center with the right blade rotating CCW and the left blade rotating CW.

Let me know what you find.
