Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 19.5hp lawn tractor wont start follow-up, tractor model, lawn tractor

We have done further testing on this lawn tractor, model #917.270822.  It is definitely getting fuel.  We jumped the safety switches & the solenoid + changed the fuse.  There is no spark at the new plugs when grounded against the engine block.
The electrical schematic shows an 'ignition unit' would that be the magneto armature?  And would a defective magneto result in no spark?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for my delay.  It was a busy holiday here.

Yes, a defective ignition unit/coil/magneto would result in no spark.  I would replace it.
