Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drive belt/electric PTO clutch, huskee supreme, air chisel

Question
I have a Huskee Supreme 26HP 54" Deck, MTD Model 808K.  I'm trying to replace the lower drive belt thats goes from the rear of the tractor to the front.  It connects to an electric PTO clutch/engine pulley.  The top part of the pulley is where the long lower drive belt connects, and the second(bottom pulley) is where the belt for the deck blades attaches.  I have removed the bolt on the bottom part of the pulley but the pulley wont come off, I think its hanging there by pure magic, how do I get this pulley off?

Thanks
Craig

Answer
Hi Craig,

There may be some rust between it and the crankshaft.  I would spray some penetrating fluid on the crankshaft, above the pulley and let it soak for hours, repeating the spraying.  Tap it with a brass hammer.  Use an air chisel/hammer with a blunt point to loosen the pulley if no luck with the spray.

Let me know how you make out.
