Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Dryer wont dry, peep hole, hi mike

Question
Hi Mike

Dont know if u have expertise with this or not. Have a gas (propane) dryer. Turn it on and it heats up but its taking about 2 hrs to dry a load - cleaned out all of the ducting - if I look in the small peep hole up front its clearly firing up wiht no problems . I suspect it may be the thermostat - any other ideas?

Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

I have not worked on a gas dryer but most of the problems and controls should the same or similar to an electric.  The thermostat should turn the heat on or off, so if you have heat then I think the thermostat is okay.  I would suspect the blower that circulates the air.  Check for a good air flow at the duct outlet.  I'm sure you cleaned and checked the lint sceen and it's airway.

Let me know what you find.
Michael
