Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Smoke coming from my lawmower muffler, briggs and stratton, shape note

I have smoke coming from my muffler on tmy lawnmower.  It is a 3.5 briggs and stratton classic.  I want to know if there is something I can do to fix it or if it is just cheaper buying another one.

Hi Joshua,

If the mower is old, the engine may be getting worn out.  If so, you can either continue using it until it dies or replace the mower.  Engine repair or replacement probably would not be worth the cost unless the rest of the mower is in great shape.  Note: Make sure that the oil level is not just overfull.
