Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): carbuerator, craftsman leaf blower, diaphram

Question
my craftsman leaf blower starts after choking it.(this choke seems to be the only way to spurt fuel into the chamber giving it fuel,(the bottom of the carb has a pin that pushes a diaphram) but runs for 2 seconds then dies. the primer bulb just seems to pressurize the fuel line. i tried to clean the carb with fuel and wire. also how may turns does the mixture screw need to be?

Answer
Hi Paul,

The high speed mixture screw is initially set at 1&1/2 turns out.  Then adjust it to give good acceleration and top speed, while keeping the screw as far out as possible.  The low speed mixture screw is set at 3/4 turn out, then adjust to give a smooth idle.

Good Luck.
Michael
