Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Karcher Pressure Washer, spray wand, drive shaft

Question
This unit powered by a 5hp Honda engine will not build any pressure after starting for the first time this spring.  I hook up the water, start the engine, and usually when I depress the trigger on the spray wand the engine goes under a load as the pump is engaged.  Not the case now.  The engine rpm's stay the same on and the water coming out of the wand is still just hose pressure (very mild).  I've checked the water filter and it is clean.  For background knowledge the unit was operating fine the last time it was used about 6 months ago.  I was unable to start the engine in this last week and ultimately had to disassemble the carb and clean to get the engine to run.  As I was trying to start the engine before rebuilding the carb I did not have the water hooked up but it never ran without the water except for maybe 15-20 seconds while spraying starting fluid into the carb in an effort to get the engine to lite up.  Is there some sort of shut off for the pump that needs to be reset?  Or in disassembling the carb is it possible to have disconnected something that activates the pump?  Any help you can give will be appreciated.  If you are not the one to ask this question please let me know who I should direct it to.  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Clay,

If the engine is turning over the pump's drive shaft, then the pump should be operating.
If there is a chance that the washer was exposed to freezing temps, I would suspect a seal that might have been pushed out of position or somthing else, pump related.  You could disassemble the pump and inspect it.

Let me know what you find.
