Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stuck flywheel on Briggs and Stratton engine, briggs and stratton, blade area

Hello, the flywheel on my B&S engine is stuck.  Well kindof.  I recently wanted to change the oil on it so I ran it until it ran out of gas and then changed the oil.  When I tried to restart it I couldn't pull the cord.  I took the cord pulley off and it worked fine.  The problem is the flywheel and blade will spin for about 1.5 revolutions and then they stop.  I can turn it past the sticking point with a wrench but it is way to hard for plain old pull starting.  Help please.  Thanks in advance.  Btw, it is a 4yr. old B&S 6.5 Hp OHV Intek engine.

Hi Steve,

Before we decide that there is internal engine damage, I would remove the spark plug, to allow easier turning over.  Then turn it over while checking the blade area for any obstruction.  Any noises, changes or does it still stick?
