Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnmower repair, dicc, snapper

Question
I HAVE A SNAPPER REAR ENGINE RIDING MOWER/ MODEL # 280855 AND HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVE. I HAVE REPLACED THE DRIVE DISC BUT IT JUST KEEPS GETTING SLOWER AND NOW WHEN I TURN IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT ON IT TO MAKE THE DRIVE MORE STRONG AND MORE STEADY?

Answer
Hi Timmy,

I forget the drive set up on your mower. If it's a dicc and wheel, you will need to check that there is enough tension between the two parts.  Is a spring missing or weak?  Check to see if the slipping is in the transmission.  Watch to see what turns, while a helper operates the mower.  Do this while holding the mower back in front of a tree or other solid object.

Let me know what you find.
