Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Spark, kill switch, spark plug

I have a 8hp B&S. I have no spark at the spark plug. Could the coil be bad? Need advise how to check the coil of there is a way. Gap is set, Magnet is clean and the coil is free of rusy. Thanks for any help..

Hi David,

The coil could be bad.  I would double check the easy things first.  Make sure the coil is properly connected and grounded.  Check the safety kill switch, if equipped.  Finally, if all else looks good, replace the coil.  I don't know how to test them and most shops don't either.
