Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Chief Push Mower, push mower, idler pulleys

Question
I am replacing the drive belt on my mower and I can't seem to get the routing of the belt correct. The wheels aren't moving. The only numbers that I can see are Model #34-K and a Service #229716. Can you help me?

Answer
It's been several years since I worked on Lawn Chiefs so I don't have the model numbers memorized anymore.  Not to worry though some basic tips should get you going.

The pulley on the engine  and the front pulley should be V shaped.  The V part of the belt should ride in this part of the pulley.

Most of the idler pulleys are flat, across the face of the pulley.  The back, or flat part of the belt should ride on the back of the pulley.

When you engage the self-propel lever the idler pulley should move and tighten the belt.  This will drive the wheels.
Does this make sense?  Do you have a flat idler pulley?
Let me know.
