Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): cub cadet weed trimmer starter recoil spring, weed trimmer, recoil spring

I have a cub cadet weed trimmer model 3075 that runs perfectly.  However, the pull cord won't retract. I took the housing apart and the spring has sprung and I cannot get it back together.  Any suggestions or instructions are greatly appreciated.  The year model is 2003 or 2004, not sure which.  Thanks, Chuck Gainey

I recommend for everyone that writes in about recoils to take them into a good shop to have the repair done.  It can be more costly and potentially dangerous to repair if you haven't done one before.  If you are lucky, they will let you observe as they complete the repair.  Hope this helps.
