Mark.Is it possible to convert a 1975 -40 horsepower Evinrude outboard from a pull start to an electric start.Thank you for your time.Bill Andrews.

These engines no doubt came with electric start as an option, so the pieces (ring gear, starter, harness, solenoid, neutral safety switch, etc.) should be available.  You would need to find a wrecked (cheap) engine to get the pieces from to make this economically feasible.  A gym membership to get you in shape for pulling the engine over by hand would be cheaper than buying the pieces new (if available).  Hope this helps.
