Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman pushmower engine cover remove, recoils, time hope

pull cord broke it is a 6.75 hp mower.first time it has had problems.i have taken 2 bolts out but the top cover still on tight.dont wnt to breake anything.can you help. it has green cover then the tank is black.it all wraps around.model #is917-377991thanks

I recommend for everyone that asks about repairing recoils to take it into a good shop.  It can be more expensive and potentially dangerous to try it yourself if you haven't repaired one before.  If you ask nice, the shop may allow you to watch how it is repaired so you will know for the next time.  Hope this helps.
