Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Murray riding mower starting problems, jumper cables, car batteries

Question
Last summer our mower was having a hard time turning over, so I put in a new battery.  That helped for about 2 or 3 mows then it started all over again.  We have to hook it up to the battery charger every time we need to mow.  But last night, it wouldn't turn over for anything, even hooked it up to the car with jumper cables, but it would only click once or twice then nothing.  I'm going to put it back on the charger tonight, but shouldn't it have turned right over with the car hooked up?  Are mower batteries recharged while the mower is operating like car batteries?

Answer
It is supposed to charge like a car.

Check the fuse, usually under the dashboard, and dis-connect the battery.  With the cables dis-connected, clean both the battery terminals and cable ends with a wire brush.

Re-connect battery and charge.
Let me know what happens.
