Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Chain saw oilers, chain oiler, oil tank

Question
I foolishly used old engine oil for the chain lubircant on my Echo chain saw 290EVL and now the chain oiler is pluged up.  How do I fix it?

Answer
Hi Chuck,

Sorry, I don't know how to give you a step by step proceedure.  I would drain the oil tank, remove the bar and blow air through the oil outlet, back into the tank.  Then flush out the tank with kerosene or a light oil and refill.  If that doesn't work then you will need to disassemble the saw and check the oiler flow path.

I have used old oil also but I recommend letting it settle first, then pour off and use the top.

Let me know how you make out.
Michael
