Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite Strait Shaft Trimmer, centrifical clutch, clutch disks

Question
Hey Michael, me again, back with another project. So my cuzin has a 25cc Homelite Strait Shaft Trimmer. He got it from my grandfather(and my grandfather got it from his brother). For the past few year my cuzin has used this Homelite and it worked like a charm. Now since I know more than he does about small engines he brought it to me. At first he started it and when he put up the throttle it would rev high then bog down like it was about to choke and then a few seconds later it totaly choked! So he left it at my house and I did what I had to do cleaned out the carb twice put in new fuel lines(because the other ones were about to start a new lake ontario). Pulled the cord and it started it up. Ran carb cleaner through it. Now man is it ever loud. So now i tried cuttin a patch of grass with this trimmer. It could cut. I put it at full throttle and nothing, nothing at all. It spun and it looked like it was spinning fast enough for it to cut, but it wasn't. The engines seems to be OK (so I think). I don't know if there is a problem in the gear head of the trimmer. Mabe a gear is gone? Mabe the centrifical clutch? Any help is greatly appreciated! Any way let me know(I have to get it fixed ASAP).

Answer
Hi Mike,

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Is the engine running at full speed? Is the head also? Does the head bog when under a load and cutting, while the engine keep its rpm's?
Check the shaft for breakage. If okay, check the clutch disks.
