old mower i can get it started but it wont stay running

Hi Dan,

First, check for water in the fuel.
Otherwise, the engine most likely has dirt, debris or gummmed fuel in the carb.  You will need to remove the carb, disassemble and clean all the small openings, using a fine wire to probe each and every opening.  Finally blow it out with compressed air, then re-assemble.
