Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs Stratton no spark, briggs and stratton, briggs stratton

Question
I have a Briggs and stratton, V-twin, 18 hp van guard engine. It has no spark.  I was mowing the lawn and I stopped it to check the gas level. It did not stop by itself, no problems. I went to start it 11 minutes later, and it wouldn't start. No spark with either cylinder. This engine has electronic ignition, so there are no points to go bad.  I have checked the basics, no sheared flywheel pin, no loose wires, any suggestions? Thanks a lot

Answer
Randy,

I suspect a bad coil or safety switch.  The switches are located in or near the seat and used with the blade engagement system.  Trace the wiring from the keyswitch through the safety switches and finally to the coil.

Let me know how you make out.
Michael

I will be on vacation starting today, so you may need to continue with another volunteer.
