Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Weed eater coil, continuity test, air gap

Question
Am not getting spark when I crank over an XR-20 weed eater. The plug is OK. I believe it is the coil as there is not much else it could be............or is there? There are no points in this model. I have run a continuity test through the plug wire to the coil and it is OK but is there any other way to test it? Is this the likely culprit?

Answer
There is no way to properly test an electronic ignition module.  Verify that there is no problem with the shut-off switch or the lead to the module causing it to be grounded out.  If they are OK and the air gap between the flywheel and the module is 0.010" and you still have no spark, the module needs to be replaced.  Hope this helps.
