Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Weed Eater, diaphrams, weed eater

Hi,
I have a 3 year old weed eater that has been sitting for 2 of those 3 years. I just went to put it in service today, added gas, started it up and it only stays running for about 10 seconds when cutting.

First make sure the mixture screws (side-by-side on carb) are set to 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated.  If this doesn't help and it only runs on choke or after priming, you will need to clean the carb thoroughly and install a new set of diaphrams.  You would also want to replace the fuel filter and inspect the lines from the tank to the carb.  Hope this helps.
