Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnmower fuel system, four stroke, fuel system

Question
I have a four-stroke Techumseh lawnmower engine that is allowing fuel to flow right thru to the exhaust system when it is not running.  Basically when the mower is stopped, fuel will start leaking out of the exhaust.

It otherwise works normally when running/starting.

Do you know what might be broken and if it is a problem that can be fixed, or is this problem beyond reasonable cost to repair.

Thank you.

Answer
There is a problem with either the needle and seat or the float. You need to remove the carb and inspect the inlet needle and seat for wear and replace accordingly. If the float is the problem, it won't float because it has a hole in it (you should hear fuel in it if you shake it). This would not be an unreasonable repair.  Hope this helps.
