Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn tractor problems, driven pulley, degree twist

hi mike

well the tractor runs great now. I am almost done, just need to put the new belts on.

well that is not going so well. i think i had them on right, but instead of 3speeds forward and 2 rev, i have 3 rev and 1 forward.

I have tried different ways to put them on but the only way that they dont jam or pop off is the way i have it now, but that cant be right.

any ideas?

Hi Matt,

Start at the rear end and as you look at the drive set-up, figure out what direction each pulley must turn.
A 90 degree twist in a belt left or right, will determine the direction of the driven pulley.
