Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb. adjustments for Weed Eater 7000, carb adjustments, diaphrams

Question
My friend gave me a Weed Eater 7000 that the carb. sat around dismantled for a while (everything dried out).  He replaced the gaslines but replaced them with the same sized lines instead of one small one big (ID).  I replaced all of the gaskets and diaphrams and got it running again.  The problem is it will only run in the full upright position.  As soon as you lean it back to use it, it stalls out.  If you leave the choke half on it works, but that not quite right.  Also when it is leaning you can not increase the rpms to fast or it will stall.  If you go full throdle straight up then lean it back it stall when it tries to idle.  Iam very confused. (Iam not sure what year it is)

Answer
It sounds more like the weighted fuel filter was not re-installed on the fuel pickup line in the tank.  If positioning causes problems, this is generally caused by the fuel line not being fully submersed in fuel.  The starting adjustments for the mixture screws are 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated.  Hope this helps.
