Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower engine wont stay running, injector cleaner, lawn mower

Question
After storing mower for the winter it wont stay running now.  Before starting it up I changed the oil, put on a new blade, the spark plug and air cleaner.  I drained the engine of gas for storage and put a few drops of sta bil in it too...I did wash the mower before storage and used a gas can that had maybe a quarter of old gas in it but topped it off with fresh gas...it will start but only keep running if I hold down the primer button...what do you suggest I do to ensure the engine will stay running at normal speed?

It ran fine before storage.

thanks

Answer
BILL, IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE CARB IS GUMMED UP.  TRY SOME GAS TREATMENT (INJECTOR CLEANER) ADDED TO THE GAS AND RUN IT THRU AS BEST YOU CAN AND HOPE FOR THE BEST.  BUT MORE THAN LIKELY YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PULL THE CARB AND CLEAN IT REAL GOOD ON THE BENCH.
