Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Pull cord, recoil spring, starter cord

Hi Marc I have an old mower and a small lawn would like to save mower.  just regular 31/2 hp motor how do I install a pull starter cord ? or whatever it's called?  thank you for your time,   Art

I recommend for everyone that they take the recoil in to a shop to have it repaired.  If you are unfamiliar with repairing recoils, it can cost you more money (due to damaging recoil spring, pulley, etc.) and has the potential to cause personal injury if done incorrectly.  It is a relatively inexpensive repair if you take the recoil housing (no need to take the whole mower) in to the shop.  Hope this helps.
