Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn lower wont start, spark plug wire, safety switch

Question
I have a lawnmower from Lowes with a B & S engine.  Today I turned the mower up on its front end to change the blade and clean the underside with a hose.  Now it won't start.  I don't think it is getting a spark.  I checked it by pulling the spark plug wire off of the spark plug and inserting another spark plug in the wire so that I could watch the gap.  when I pull the mower cord, I don't see a spark.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Check the engine shut-off cable.  I have found cables that stretch not allowing the shut-off switch to open but allowing you to pull the string.

Try taking the spark plug out of the engine and check for spark.  For the record, the electronic coil rarely fail...no spark is almost always caused by a bad shut-off cable or a broken wire/safety switch if your mower has one.

Let me know what you find.
