Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tiller not starting, front tine tiller, internal passages

Question
I have a Wizard front tine tiller/I don't know the year but it is > 25 years old and I am unable to get it started.  I have cleaned most parts including carburator/spark plug.  Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
The first thing you should do is check for spark by removing the spark plug, grounding it to the cylinder head and turning the engine over.  If it has no spark, you will likely need to replace the points and condensor (judging by the age you say, it is likely a points igntion).  If it has spark, squirt a bit of fuel in the carb and see if it tries to start.  If it does try to start, you will need to thoroughly clean the carb, including pushing a piece of tag wire through all of the internal passages and follow up with carb cleaner.  Replace the fuel filter and carb diaphram (if equipped).  If this isn't enough information, let me know what you find after trying these suggestions.  Hope this helps.
