Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S Engine not starting, briggs stratton, spark plug

Question
I have a 4.5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton that is not getting any spark to the plug.  Build date is Oct. of 2002.  No wires broken, disconnected, or otherwise not correct, as far as I can tell.  Could I possibly have a bad coil?  Thanks for any help.

Answer
Possible, but not likely.  I've only found a couple of bad coils.

To check for sure, remove the engine blower housing, sheet metal, to expose the coil.  Up-plug the small wire on the side or bottom of the coil.

Remove the spark plug.  Place blower housing back on engine so you can pull the start cord.  Check for spark.

Let me know what you find.
