Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 20 hp mower, briggs and stratton, fuel pumps

I have a lawn tractor with a 20 np Briggs and Stratton engine.  The engine will only run at low speed, and then after a minute or so, it would die.  I have replaced the fuel filter and air filter and the engine is getting gas.  I cannot keep it running for more than about 30 seconds.  It starts easily but then dies.  The engine is only two years old.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Check the fuel pump hose connections.  Most of the larger engines have fuel pumps.

I would also replace the spark plugs.  While your problems sounds more like a fuel related problem, I have fixed a lot of engines by just replacing plugs.

If the fuel pump connections are secure, then I would remove, disassemble and clean the carburetor.

Let me know if the plugs fix the problem.
