Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowmobile engine, stator coils, head bolts

Question
I am changing piston rings and oil seals on a Suzuki built 340cc arctic cat engine. I have the engine dissasembled to the crankcase. My question is do I have to remove the magneto? If so how? This engine belongs to a 340 Arctic Cat Jag Mountain Cat Snowmobile 1991.

Answer
If you are referring to removing the flywheel, you will need a puller like this one (http://www.centralsnowmobile.com/Central/Blowout%20pict/Flywheel%20puller.jpg).  The bolts thread into the available holes on the flywheel and the centre bolt works against the end of the crank to pull the flywheel off.  If you are referring to removing the charge and stator coils, you will likely need an impact driver to get the bolts loose (especially if they are Philips head bolts).  Then carefully wiggle the coil "ring" off its mounting location.  Hope this helps.
