Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs & Stratton fly wheel removal, briggs stratton, hp briggs

Question
I do not have spark from my 7.0 hp Briggs & Stratton Snowblower engine. The Snowblower is a Toro 26".  I believe the points went bad because the engine suddenly stopped but did not freeze up and I now have no spark.

My question is:
How do you remove the barring for the pull start?  I have removed the pully system (and there is a electric starter but that is not in the way) & screening that was attached to the fly wheel. I do not see any bolts to remove at this point or a key and I'm not sure if this is even required to come off to get the points.  Any help you could send would be appreciated.

Thank you

Mike

Answer
There are either two or four small screws, going into the starter clutch that hold the screen on.  Once removed, the starter clutch is also the nut that holds the flywheel on.  You can loosen it by using a piece of wood and a hammer and tapping on one of the thicker ears on the clutch.  Then, pry gently on a thick part of the flywheel and give the end of the crankshaft a sharp hit with a plastic hammer to get it.  Then you will see a circular cover under the flywheel that houses the points and condensor.  Use the parts lookup at the B&S website and the numbers from the engine to see the parts diagram and give you a better understanding of how the whole assembly looks.  Hope this helps.
