I am a retired auto mechanic. thanks in advance    Danny
Answer -
According to B&S, all engines produced after 1981 are equiped with electronic ignition.
Thanks for the fast responce the engine is 11 hp i might be a 1981  model do i just stick my fingers under the flywheel and feel for wires? i will check but i dont think there any thanks again for the fast responce  danny
Check for sure my looking for wires under the flywheel or an exposed point box depending on the size of the engine.

What size engine do you have?

Eric

Answer
Once you remove the blower housing you will see the coil.  If the coil only has one small wire that runs down to the throttle control assembly on the engine block then you do not have points.  If a small wire from the coil runs underneath the flywheel then you have points...a point will also have a wire running to the throttle assembly; this wire is for the engine cut-off and connects to the key switch.

Let me know what you find.
Eric
