Snowmobile Repair: Bent plastic ski, arctic cat zl600, plastic skis

Question
I hit a log on the trail and bent the tip of one of my plastic skis.  It is sticking nearly straight up.  The sled is a 2001 Arctic Cat ZL600 EFI, stock skis (I believe they are the ZR style).  My question is, can the ski be heated up and bent back to original shape?  If so, what is the best method?  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Tony,

With your safety in mind, I can't recommend salvaging the ski. Speaking from experience, if that ski was to break, the snowmobile would stop and you would be over the windshield. Sorry about the misfortune. Browns Arctic Cat, has a used ski for $78.47 Canadian. They also sell new ones: http://www.brownsleisureworld.com/Parts/SNOWMOBILE/2001/2001(S2001ZLDEFUSB)(ZL600EFI)/SKIANDSPINDLEASSEMBLY.htm  .  Ebay has very good deals at times on plastic skis also, but it may be hard to find one that matches your other ski correctly. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck with the sled! --Arcticaman
