Snowmobile Repair: Arctic Cat Wildcat Fuel consumption???, hose clamps, gas mileage

Question
I have a 1995 wildcat 700EFI, it sucks fuel. i average 1.5 miles per gallon. and it is only a ten gallon tank i am filling up 3 times to every 1 time other riders are.
What do you think the problem could be and how do I fix it.
Also, could you point me in the direction of a good repair/service manual
THANK YOU,
Rob Meister

Answer
Hello Rob,

That's real abnormal for gas mileage. It could be two things, and internal problem, or a fuel leak. First I would make sure that no gas is leaking from any of the hoses. Make sure all the hose clamps are tight. If everything checks OK, you will need to take a look at the fuel injection throttle body. Try cleaning it out thoroughly with injector cleaner ( like gumout spray ). I don't doubt that you may need to take it to your dealers for repair. Hope this helps. As for a manual, there aren't any big manual manufacturers that make ones for the Arctic Cat Wildcat. The best manual I can think if is made by Clymer. Allthough it does not specifically cover the Wildcat, it covers sleds basically the same, with same engines, ect.  You cab get the manual here;  http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp;jsessionid=0GANB1ST0C1...  Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck with the sled! --Arcticatman
