Snowmobile Repair: AMSOIL, oil manufacturers, premix

Question
hey again,
this site is AMAZING btw! lol  anyway, just wondering.....i have switched to AMSOIL sinthetic snowmobile oil in my sled, which is premix.  i was mixing 40:1, but on the AMSOIL case, it said, mix at 50:1 ratios.  i was wondering what i should do!  do i have to stick with what is recommended, or can i mix it leaner now because of the synthetic properties?  thanks again,
Drew

Answer
Hello Drew,

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you sooner. It is ok to mix 50:1, but here are a few guide lines. If the sled runs fine, and isn't running with too much oil, or fouling plugs, I would stay at the 40:1, the extra lubrication will make the engine last longer. If you seem to be geeting too much oil, and the plugs are always fouling up, ect, then 50:1 is fine. Generally all Synthetic oil manufacturers will recomend 50:1, as they lubricate the sled better.Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions! Go
